Palmerston North Girls’ High School has been developing a numeracy program to enhance our students’ ability recognize and solve context-based Math problems.
We have written a set of teaching and learning tasks incorporating local contexts and histories with relevant and important tasks to better engage our students.
This Numeracy program will blend in with our Year 10 Math program from the beginning of Year 10 Term 3 until Year 11 Term 2 at which point the students will have the opportunity to gain Numeracy Standard US32406.
We will be monitoring student progression with the tasks and identifying broader areas of strength and gaps in learning.
